Ignorance of your Eyelash Romance, and thus, life

The fact that you don’t feel thirsty when you actually need water the most depicts nearly the entire truth of life. There are ideas beyond your understanding and there are things beyond your vision. There are times when you realize I am not capable of something (maybe everything), or when you feel the entire struggle is just not worth it, or when you sit down on the side of your bed facing a white wall with a drooping face in your hands and sobby heart in your mouth and wonder what the world would be like if you give up. With every blink of your eye, your eyelashes make a clinching sound when they touch each other. The little strands of hair entangle with their counterpart. Let’s take a deeper and closer look at this phenomenon from a philosophical point of view. Your eyelashes are something very insignificant on your face, and something that is often ignored. People talk about eyes: “Wow, your eyes are as deep as an ocean!”, Your Nose: “Oh my god, your nose is sharper than a knife!”, Your Lips: “Jesus, your lips are as red as a rose!”, Your ears: “Damn, your ears form the most perfect curvature of your body!”, Your cheeks: “Oh lord, your cheeks carry a natural blush!”, and finally your hair: “Don’t doubt me if I say your hair is an added grace to your existence!” But where are the eyelashes? Nowhere, right? So, today, as I write this, I have no idea where my words would take you or take me, for it’s all impromptu. Perhaps we’ll end up at a good place or perhaps not. But who cares? My eyelashes seem to enjoy the importance I am giving them right now, so, let’s let it slide or maybe let it clinch?

While you sit right now and do your daily chores, your eyelashes silently keep doing their task. Their movement is so silent and clandestine that even you don’t get to know when they meet or when they blink. As silent as two lovers who are meeting under the silver moonlight in a sky showcasing the wrath of a full moon (which in this context can be your eyeballs). Without making even a single noise as if under a spell of ecstasy, the lovers crawl towards each other and meet in supreme pin drop silence, get separated and then wait to meet again. If you hear closely whenever these two lovers meet, they make a feeble clinch sound. The sound of your upper eyelash meeting your lower eyelash. Something that happens multiple times every single minute of your every day. Yet you fail to notice it or hear it. There is a full-fledged romantic novel being written around your eyes and you fail to notice it!

This is exactly what we do with everything else in our lives as well. We keep seeing the route forward and forward without actually paying attention to what is happening around us. We fail to hear the sound of our own heartbeat just like we fail to hear the sound of our eyelashes clinching. In the search of conventional romantics, we fail to notice the beautiful and subtle love stories that nature is writing and rewriting for us every single moment of every single day. Everything on this planet is in sync with each other and in sync with the rhythm of our heartbeat. The tale of your eyelashes is just one in millions of love stories that nature authors while you breathe.

If nature can romanticize something as insignificant as your eyelashes, what makes you think it’ll forget about you? Just like you never realized this about your lashes, you failed to notice the symphonies the universe is playing for you. Every single moment, it is taking you away from where you are, and closer to where you want to be. So, just hang on! Your turn shall come. Until then, keep finding romance everywhere :)
